A large crowd sits on the grass at an outdoor concert at sunset, surrounded by trees and a clear sky. In the foreground, a person holds up a smartphone displaying the event listing for “Symphony in the Park,” a free concert by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park. The phone screen shows a play button, indicating audio streaming or accessibility features. The scene captures the integration of technology to enhance accessibility at a live music event.

Wavefront Centre expands access to Audio Accessibility solutions

by | Apr 27, 2025 | Audio Accessibility

At Wavefront Centre, we are committed to breaking down barriers to accessibility and ensuring that everyone can fully experience arts, culture and live performance.

By bringing Bettear to more locations across Canada, communication and listening become more accessible for all communities.

In partnership with local venues, we have expanded access to innovative Audio Accessibility solutions at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Metro Theatre Vancouver, and Grimsby Public Library.

With the utilization of Bettear, now everyone can enjoy crystal clear sound, whether they’re taking part in a live show or enjoying the tranquil quiet of the library’s space.

Seamlessly compatible with your device

Audiences who are Hard of Hearing can now experience live performances with crystal-clear sound streamed directly to their personal devices thanks to the innovative advancements of Bettear, an assitive listening solution that works to break down barriers in the world of sound.

This cutting-edge technology utilizes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth—and with the upcoming release of Auracast™, it is set to revolutionize Audio Accessibility by delivering seamless, high-quality sound without the need for additional equipment.

Imagine attending a theatre performance at the Shadbolt Centre for The Arts, or going to see the latest musical playing at the Metro Theatre. With the help of Bettear, you can connect your hearing aids, cochlear implants, or headphones directly to the streamed audio, so that you can thoroughly enjoy the experience without interruptions or missing parts of the show.

Bettear integrates effortlessly with smartphones, Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids, cochlear implants and headphones, creating a more inclusive and immersive listening experience for all.

How does it work?

  1. Make sure that your hearing aids, cochlear implant or headphones are connected via Bluetooth.
