Advanced Hearing Aid Technology
Hearing aid technology to suit every lifestyle
Thanks to decades or research and innovation, hearing aids have evolved into sophisticated mini-computers for your ears – analyzing sound, adapting to different environments, enhancing communication and reducing listening effort in real time.
With cutting-edge technology and sleeker designs, hearing aids are becoming more mainstream and accepted, reducing the stigma that used to exist.
Customized hearing solutions for your needs
Most hearing aids today are fully digital, offering direct streaming to your personal devices and customizable features to suit your lifestyle. They support clearer communication, stronger social connections, enhance quality of life, and even reduce risk of falls.
At Wavefront Centre, we know that no two ears – or people – are the same. After a comprehensive assessment and consultation, we’ll work with you to find the right hearing technology that best support your needs, goals, and everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs about advanced hearing aid technology
Can’t find an answer?
How much are hearing aids?
The cost of hearing aids depends on individual needs. The best hearing aid for you depends on factors like the severity of hearing loss, lifestyle, and technology preferences. Our goal is to ensure you receive the best care, and that starts with a comprehensive hearing evaluation to determine the most suitable options.
Why do we charge for a hearing test and other places do not?
We charge for hearing tests because it allows us to provide a comprehensive, high-quality evaluation conducted by certified clinicians. Our hearing tests involve detailed assessments to properly diagnose hearing issues and create a tailored treatment plan.
Questions relating to our non-profit organization and where the profits go?
As a non-profit organization, our focus is on giving back to the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities. Any profits generated are reinvested into programs that support accessibility, equal access to communication, and remove barriers for them. As well, your investment in our services helps to improve access to hearing healthcare for those who may not otherwise afford it.
What are over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids?
Over-the-counter hearing aids are devices designed for adults with a mild to moderate hearing loss. They can be purchased without a prescription or hearing test. Currently, these devices are only available in the United States and have not been approved to be sold within Canada.
While they may be a more accessible option for some, they lack the personalized care and fitting process that ensures optimal hearing aid performance for each individual’s unique needs.
Is a hearing test covered under MSP?
In British Columbia, MSP (Medical Services Plan) does not typically cover hearing tests for adults. However, there may be coverage for specific populations. Please check with us or your healthcare provider for more details about coverage options.
What are my options for funding my hearing aids?
If you cannot afford new hearing aids, you may be eligible to obtain an aid through Wavefront Centre’s Lend An Ear program
