A rich history
Wavefront Centre originated from the Vancouver Adult Deaf Association and the Vancouver League for the Hard of Hearing in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1956, these groups formed the Society for the Advancement of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, later renamed the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WIDHH).
Over the decades, the organization expanded its services, including audiology and employment counseling, and established multiple offices. In 2019, WIDHH rebranded as Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility, continuing to serve thousands with comprehensive hearing health and communication services.
