Lend an Ear program
Connecting donated Hearing Aids with people in need of better hearing
There are thousands of people across British Columbia that are living with a hearing loss but either do not have the financial means to seek help, or choose to put their loved ones’ needs ahead of theirs.
We’re often asked if there’s any way that we can help. That’s why we offer the Lend an Ear program.
Who qualifies for the Lend an Ear program?
The purpose of this program is to help people achieve better hearing who otherwise would not have the financial means to care for their hearing health.
As a result, this program is exclusively for people with no-income or low-income who experience difficulties due to living life with untreated hearing loss.
Success stories
Transforming lives through Lend an Ear
The Lend an Ear program has transformed the lives of many individuals across British Columbia. By donating their previous hearing devices, our clients have given the gift of sound to those who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
Dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve, this program provides access to better hearing for individuals with no income or low income who do not qualify for third-party funding or external support. Through Lend an Ear, we strive to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to engage more fully in life through improved hearing.

How does it work?
This program allows our clients to donate their used devices still in good condition or donate devices of a loved one who has passed away.
Our team professionally reconditions the devices and then provides them to an individual who has been determined to be eligible for the program.
Through a combination of donations and other funding, eligible individuals can access hearing tests, a permanent loan of a hearing aid, earmolds, and repair and/or replacement for one year.
Our clients know better than anyone how challenging living with an untreated hearing loss is and, through the Lend an Ear program, it’s an opportunity to help more people reconnect with the world around them.
- If you believe that you qualify, complete an online application process which includes your financial eligibility.
- The application will then be reviewed [2-3 business days].
- Once the application is reviewed, you will be contacted for an evaluation. Please note that appointments and devices are limited and a typical wait could be 16 weeks.
- The evaluation includes a hearing assessment and discussion with the clinician to determine eligibility for the program. If an appropriate device for your hearing loss is available, you’ll schedule a fitting of the device(s). A typical wait could be 4-8 weeks.
- Upon successful fitting, we invite you to share your experience by providing a testimonial. Your words can help inspire others and show the impact of the Lend An Ear program.
