February’s Social Meals event at Wavefront Centre was a heartwarming gathering filled with conversation, laughter and new connections.
Held on Pink Shirt Day on February 26, over 50 Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing seniors gathered at our Mount Pleasant location, where they were encouraged to wear pink in support of kindness, inclusion and a world without bullying.
Thank you to all the new and familiar faces that came to visit us to celebrate and advocate for a more inclusive space!

Building Connections Through Food, Fun and Inclusion
Guests enjoyed lunch and played interactive games, including a tactile version of Telephone – an engaging way for individuals with hearing and vision loss to connect.
The event was fully inclusive with support from eight ASL Interpreters, Deaf Interpreters and closed captioning. Thank you to all of the interpreters who came to the event to bridge gaps in communication and ensure everyone could enjoy the event.
We loved welcoming both familiar and new faces into our inclusive space and look forward to bringing the community together again soon. Stay tuned for more events that you can join in!
