Lily Flanjak

Staff Interpreter

I am a CODA, or a Child of Deaf Adult(s), so I’ve always been around American Sign Language (ASL) and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. I have worked as an ASL interpreter since 2019 in VRS, post-secondary, and freelance.

I started doing medical interpreting in 2023 and have been a staff interpreter at Wavefront since January 2024. It has been fulfilling to see the impact interpreters have on folks’ lives on an everyday basis, and I’m proud to be part of such a beautiful community.

I’ve worked many jobs in the years previous to interpreting: I was a barista, a line cook, a tree planter, a forest firefighter, and a front desk receptionist at the previous WIDHH office. My interests and skills vary widely.

Outside of work, I am auntie to several little beans, I love to cook, and I am an artist in a handful of ways.
