My tinnitus doesn’t bother me nearly as much.

My tinnitus was incredibly bothersome, and when I heard that hearing aids could help, I didn’t really think they would do much—until I started using them. Wavefront Centre was incredibly knowledgeable about hearing aids and tinnitus, which impressed me, and I felt relieved of my concerns about the cost and whether I needed hearing aids at all.

Since wearing my hearing aids, I can hear much more clearly and my tinnitus doesn’t bother me nearly as much. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say they should book an appointment and try it; they may be surprised at how much it helps them.

All my worries faded away.

I vividly remember the moment when I realized something was amiss with my ears. I was scared and unsure about what to do or where to go for a hearing test. I called the #811 service and was referred to the Wavefront Centre.

All my worries faded away as soon as I spoke to a representative there, who took great care of me and helped me regain my hearing. It felt like a second chance at life, and now I hear very well!

I wholeheartedly recommend Wavefront Centre to my loved ones. Initially, I had a lot of fears, especially about not being able to hear conversations, which made me withdraw from social activities.

Getting hearing aids has given me a second chance at a social life, all thanks to Wavefront and their fantastic staff. My first impression of the clinic was very positive; everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, there’s nothing to lose but everything to gain.

Since wearing hearing aids, almost all areas of my life have improved.

The moment I first realized I had a hearing challenge was when I struggled to hear my wife speaking to me, and as I worked in the school system, the issue persisted with children’s voices. Although I was motivated to improve my hearing, being in my early 40s made me self-conscious about the idea of wearing hearing aids.

When I first visited Wavefront Centre, everyone was welcoming and helped ease my anxiety about the unfamiliar process of an audiology assessment. Since wearing hearing aids, almost all areas of my life have improved. I am more engaged in conversations, no longer needing to guess or ask for repetitions, and I can fully enjoy music, television, and phone calls thanks to Bluetooth connectivity.

I’ve recommended Wavefront Centre to friends and acquaintances because of their thorough assessments, convenient appointment access, and customer-centred approach that truly enhances quality of life through improved hearing.

Wavefront Centre gave me hope.

When I first realized something was up with my hearing, I was young and kind of scared. It took me years to accept my hearing loss; I still carry those fears and concerns, but contacting Wavefront Centre gave me a huge boost of confidence.

My first impressions of Wavefront Centre were incredibly positive. They gave me hope, and I was happy to see other people like me being treated for their hearing issues. You could see the happiness and contentment on their faces.

Currently, I wear a hearing aid in my right ear, which helps me hear sounds but does not provide speech clarity, while my cochlear implant in the left ear does.

If someone I know were concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Wavefront Centre, I would tell them of my positive experience— that first impression will last a lifetime. I’ve already recommended Wavefront Centre to a friend looking for hearing aids!

Do not go anywhere else!

The moment I first realized something was wrong with my ears was frightening. My hearing loss was sudden and severe, and the uncertainty of what caused it, what it meant, and how serious it was felt overwhelming. Before contacting Wavefront Centre, I had significant fears, particularly relating to the unknown, all of which were heightened by entering my seventies.

However, my first impression of the clinic was very positive. The friendly and welcoming reception left me very impressed, particularly with the knowledge and professionalism of staff like Goska, and I was relieved to find that the clinic was not linked to profit-making.

My life has improved enormously since wearing hearing aids; they have been instrumental in helping me manage my 24/7 tinnitus and sudden hearing loss, and I am very grateful for them. To anyone concerned about their hearing, Wavefront Centre has my 100% recommendation— do not go anywhere else!

- Jonathan L.

You can hear the birds again!

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when I noticed I couldn’t hear what people said unless I really focused on looking at them. Having worn hearing aids for about 12 years, I had visited different clinics in pursuit of perfecting my hearing and decided to try Wavefront Centre.

The team were very caring and professional. I appreciated being able to work with one person, rather than multiple staff as in my previous clinics. Hearing aids are essential for me since I am very hearing impaired; without them, I hear very poorly.

If you’re concerned about your hearing and considering a visit to Wavefront Centre, just do it. It will change your life. You can hear the birds again…

Just go for it, you’ll never regret it.

When I found myself unable to communicate effectively with others, I knew I had to get my hearing checked out. I knew Wavefront Centre would be a good option, and from the get-go I knew they were good people— I was confident in my decision to partner with them.

Wearing hearing aids has significantly improved my life, making it much better by allowing me to hear better. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, “Just go for it, you’ll never regret it.”

I have continued to be impressed by the skill and professionalism of the audiologists and others I've worked with.

My hearing gradually worsened, and I had to ask people to repeat themselves constantly. I recognized that I was missing certain things, so I brought up my concerns to my GP, who referred me to Wavefront Centre.

Over the past 25 years, I have continued to be impressed by the skill and professionalism of the audiologists and others I’ve worked with. I was amazed by the numerous programs and resources available. My hearing aids have become essential, as over time, my hearing has deteriorated to the point where I struggle to understand people and the radio without them.

To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I encourage you to get in touch with the Wavefront Centre. I’ve recommended it to friends and acquaintances over the years, and they have always been very impressed and grateful for the recommendation.

You are in the best hands with Wavefront Centre, and they will steadfastly support you.

I first realized that I had a hearing challenge in my late 20s; given the family genetics on my mother’s side, I anticipated it, but my biggest concern was the severity, as it varied among relatives. Unfortunately, my impairment became as severe as my mother’s, grandmother’s, and my uncle’s.

I didn’t have any preconceived fears before contacting a hearing centre because I had a good idea of what to expect from both my hearing loss and society, influenced by my mother’s experiences. My first interaction with a hearing clinic left me feeling underwhelmed due to the minimal information and options offered.

Moving to Vancouver and visiting the West 7th location of Wavefront Centre was a game-changer.
The abundance of information, devices, and support for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community impressed me so much that I preferred traveling across the city for their assistance rather than using nearby services!

Hearing aids, which were once an occasional necessity for me, have become absolutely mandatory for understanding conversations and hearing sounds like birds and music. It’s a complex relationship because they sometimes cause discomfort with glasses and face masks, and there’s a temporary increase in deafness after taking them off. Despite these challenges, they are essential for me.

For anyone concerned about their hearing, there is no place better than Wavefront Centre. This is not just a business for them— they are genuinely committed to supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, offering unparalleled service and assistance.

I can’t recommend them highly enough; you are in the best hands with Wavefront Centre, and they will steadfastly support you.

I’m confident the people working know their stuff. Right on!

I first realized I had a hearing challenge during a mandatory check for a future employer. Before reaching out to Wavefront Centre, I had no preconceived fears or concerns, since my grandfather wears hearing aids himself.

My first impression was, “Holy ****, this is high-end—I’m confident the dude or gal working knows their stuff. Right on!”

Although I don’t wear hearing aids myself, I can relate through my grandfather’s experience; it’s a bit frustrating having to re-emphasize something that was conveyed with enthusiasm.

To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would tell them that the team is kind, easy-going, and super friendly— once you make it through the “mission impossible entrance.”

Don’t worry! Just take the elevator, and someone will be willing to help once you arrive.

- Joseph J.

It wasn't a straightforward path, but they got me there.

I first noticed I might have a hearing challenge in my early twenties, but my hearing tests back then were fine. It wasn’t until my early fifties that I began having problems understanding people, which eventually led me to get hearing aids. Initially, I had no preconceived fears before contacting Wavefront Centre, largely because I had already been to three other hearing centres over the years.

These centres would always improve my hearing somewhat, but they struggled to understand that I needed more than just better hearing— I needed comprehension in conversations.

Wavefront Centre is different from the others. While other centers would endlessly adjust my hearing aids, Wavefront was truly dedicated to helping me understand people. It wasn’t a straightforward path, but they got me there.

Wearing hearing aids has been life-changing for me. They have allowed me to continue working in a demanding managerial position and maintain a somewhat normal social life thanks to the aids and various microphone options.

To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering visiting Wavefront Centre, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. I’m confident they would find a way to meet anyone’s needs.

I always advocate for people to get their hearing tested and share my positive experience with Wavefront Centre. Many don’t realize how much their lives can be impacted by poor hearing.

The audiologist was not only professional but also exuded compassion, leaving both my mother and me satisfied that we had chosen the right place.

Given my mother’s experience with severe hearing loss, I somewhat anticipated my own challenges as I aged and initially accepted it by getting a hearing aid. However, when my hearing aid malfunctioned, making me fully realize the severity of my hearing loss, I began exploring alternative hearing devices on the market. The realization was shocking, particularly because I needed hearing aids for my job.

While reaching out for help, I had mixed feelings. On one hand, I’d previously brought my mother to Wavefront Centre after a recommendation, and she received excellent care from their audiologist, which left me very impressed. My initial hearing aids, which were not prescribed by Wavefront and came with dome-shaped ear plugs, weren’t meeting my needs. I remembered my mother’s positive experience with custom ear canal impressions at Wavefront, I decided to seek a second opinion there.

My concern was heightened by my current aids malfunctioning again since I rely heavily on them for work, and I hoped the custom aids from Wavefront would improve my hearing reception. This situation felt like a potential career-changing event, causing me significant anxiety, as I understand the fears that accompany hearing loss, including social isolation and the disconnection from the outside world.

My first impressions of Wavefront Centre were overwhelmingly positive. The audiologist was not only professional but also exuded compassion, leaving both my mother and me satisfied that we had chosen the right place.

It’s not just a commercial enterprise; they offer income-generating options in support of free community programs, which speaks to their commitment to community well-being. For those concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I wholeheartedly recommend Wavefront Centre.

- Garyen C.

⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

I first realized something was up with my ears when I couldn’t follow conversations or hear talks. This alarming realization made me want to act quickly because I had read about parts of the hearing apparatus and brain beginning to atrophy if not used. Before contacting Wavefront Centre, my biggest concern was becoming isolated from family, friends, and life in general.

My first impressions of Wavefront Centre were very positive; the place was clean, clear, organized, modern, and helpful. Since getting hearing aids, I wouldn’t be without them. I put them on first thing in the morning and take them off last thing at night—they make a huge difference in my hearing and, therefore, my entire life.

To anybody concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I’d say, “Go for it!” The team is knowledgeable, responsive to your needs, answers all your questions, and recognizes your unique situation.

Wavefront Centre opened a door for me that I couldn’t open by myself.

For a number of years, I knew I was experiencing hearing difficulties, yet my self-consciousness and natural stubbornness often kept me from addressing the issue. Despite realizing I was missing out on conversations, the cost of hearing aids was my biggest roadblock before contacting Wavefront Centre.

A previous encounter where I was made to feel guilty for questioning the cost of an off-the-shelf product shook my confidence in hearing aid retailers.

However, when I eventually decided to seek help in 2021, I was really impressed, as everything was explained to me in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Wavefront Centre opened a door for me that I couldn’t open by myself.

Now, with hearing aids, I am significantly more involved in all my interactions, both socially and otherwise. They are an awesome addition to my life, indispensable despite a few downsides.

In hindsight, I should have addressed my hearing needs much sooner— a sentiment encouraged, thankfully, by two of my friends who are also Wavefront clients.

To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, put your hesitation aside, list your questions, and make an appointment today. Everyone I have interacted with at Wavefront Centre has been courteous, informative, and above all, top-notch professionals. You will be treated as number one.

A very professional experience, from the front office staff to the audiologists.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge at a young age; I went through a series of ear surgeries that began when I was six years old, and my last surgery was at the age of 19.

Initially, I had no preconceived fears or concerns before contacting Wavefront Centre; the entire experience was very professional, from the front office staff to the audiologists.

Wearing hearing aids has been crucial, and my family and coworkers dislike it when I don’t wear them. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Wavefront Centre, I would strongly encourage you to go— you won’t regret it.

- Jacqueline V.

⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Go for it!

When I noticed how often I was asking people to repeat themselves, I realized I had some level of hearing loss. I had no concerns with contacting Wavefront Centre— my brother was a previous client and had a good experience.

The team were friendly and professional, and wearing hearing aids has made me more comfortable with having hearing loss. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, “Go for it.”

It will change your life for the better.

I first realized something was wrong with my hearing when people frequently told me, “I don’t think you heard that right,” or asked, “Are you paying attention?” Initially, I was in denial, but I slowly came to accept that it was my hearing.

Wavefront Centre was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Since wearing hearing aids, life has drastically improved for me; without them, I am profoundly deaf, but with them, I can re-engage in interactions with others and enjoy music and the sounds of nature.

To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say, “Just do it. It will change your life for the better.”

- John V.

⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Do it! You won’t regret it, it’s life changing.

When I first realized I had a hearing challenge, I felt isolated, embarrassed, and unable to hear everything, which made me feel like I was missing out on understanding what others were saying. Despite knowing I already had some hearing loss, I didn’t have any fears or concerns before contacting Wavefront Centre because my neurologist recommended the clinic, and I trusted her input.

Wavefront Centre’s team were great and made me feel at ease while offering a solution to my hearing loss. Since getting hearing aids, I can hear better, I no longer feel isolated, and can participate more in conversations.

For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would emphatically tell them to do it! You won’t regret it, it’s life changing.

- Khusrau B.

I would advise you seek out their help sooner rather than later.

When I noticed the rain on the roof was louder in one ear than the other, I knew I needed to get my hearing checked out. I was concerned about transitioning from analogue hearing devices to digital and losing control of the programs, but my first visit to Wavefront Centre alleviated any worries immediately, as the entire team was incredibly friendly and professional.

Hearing aids have made a significant impact on my life— I am deaf without them. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would advise doing it sooner rather than later.

Just get tested!

I first realized my hearing challenges when I lost my hearing at just three months old. I received my first hearing aid when I was seven, and I’ve needed them throughout my life. I came to Wavefront Centre, then known as WCCA, at 22 and they have been with me every step of the way, helping me become an independent person by educating me and assisting with funding for my hearing aids.

Now at 60, they continue to support me. Before contacting them, I had lots of concerns and didn’t think I was good enough; however, my first impression was overwhelmingly positive, as everyone was so kind, knew how to communicate with me, and the team has never stopped supporting me since.

Wearing hearing aids has significantly impacted my life, enabling me to have a career, reducing my fear of missing out, and boosting my confidence.

If you’re concerned about your hearing and considering visiting Wavefront Centre, I’d say, “Just get tested.”

Hearing aids have improved the quality of my life.

I realized I was struggling with my hearing when I was teaching a class and could no longer hear the students in the back. I had several concerns before seeking care for my hearing, including the extent of improvement in my hearing, the appearance of the hearing aids, and the cost involved.

Upon visiting the centre, the staff was friendly and very helpful with answering my questions. Once I started using hearing aids, my life changed significantly as I could fully participate in conversations and hear all my students. They have proven especially beneficial in busy environments like restaurants, parties, and family gatherings. I would tell anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit that hearing aids have substantially improved the quality of my life.

I no longer worry about missing parts of conversations, and I can enjoy family dinners and outdoor activities with heightened awareness.

In high school, while sitting at the back of the classroom, I could see the teacher’s mouth move but heard no clear words. Looking back on that, I realized that I’d had hearing problems even before then. When I was in grade 2, I couldn’t hear a movie playing in class and cried out of confusion.

Later in grade 5, I was mistakenly placed in the ESL program because the teacher felt my English skills were lacking, but it was probably because I couldn’t hear well enough. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with congenital hearing impairment at 16 or 17 that everything started making sense.

At that time, I was embarrassed to be different and worried about fitting in with a hearing impairment. My concerns also extended to whether my poor immigrant parents could afford hearing aids or how they might feel guilty for not noticing sooner.

Before contacting Wavefront Centre, I had several fears and concerns. Would people treat me weirdly for being young with a hearing impairment? Could I afford hearing aids? Would someone try to take advantage of me? These worries were eased after my first appointments at their old Kitsilano location. The space was cozy, the people were nice, and no one judged me when I needed financial assistance. They referred me to helpful programs instead.

My first audiologist at Wavefront Centre, Yinda, was amazing. As an active teenager, I wanted to fit in, and Yinda helped me by accommodating my hearing aid preferences. They patiently explained my hearing aids, accessories, the nature of my hearing loss, and how to effectively manage it.

Now, as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital, hearing aids are indispensable to my job. I consult with patients, allied health professionals, nurses, and physicians daily. Without hearing aids, I wouldn’t be able to work safely, which would put patients’ health and lives at risk. Outside of work, these aids have boosted my confidence. I no longer worry about missing parts of conversations, and I can enjoy family dinners and outdoor activities with heightened awareness.

For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering visiting Wavefront Centre, I would say they are inclusive, accommodating, and won’t take advantage of you, given that they are a nonprofit.

- Tara T.

Everyone was so friendly and professional.

About 10 or 12 years ago, I noticed something was up with my ears when I started missing the critical word in a sentence, leading to my loved ones feeling frustrated. I initially started with one hearing aid and eventually progressed to two. Wavefront Centre came highly recommended by my GP, and everyone was so friendly and professional.

While wearing hearing aids has been helpful, I do encounter some challenges in crowded venues like rooms or restaurants. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering visiting Wavefront Centre, I would say you will receive an independent and objective diagnosis.

Visit as soon as possible – it will improve your life!

As volume kept increasing on my car radio, TV, and after sitting in front of five trumpet players in my jazz orchestra for fifteen years, I knew it was time to seek help for my hearing.

Having known Goska from years prior, I had no fears when I contacted Wavefront Centre. My first impression was that the clinic was modern, well-equipped, with a friendly staff.

Wearing hearing aids has been a game-changer for me: my musicianship and intonation improved, I listen to recordings with the ears of a teenager, hear birds more clearly, and can lower the radio and television volumes— plus, the devices connect via Bluetooth. I’m now at ease in noisy restaurants, and most importantly, my wife appreciates my ability to listen to her and everything else at a low volume.

If you’re concerned about your hearing, my advice is to visit as soon as possible— it will improve your life!

They’re always going the extra mile to make sure that people feel welcome and heard.

People started telling me that I wasn’t hearing them correctly, which motivated me to get an assessment. I first visited Wavefront Centre when they were still in that old house in Kits; my first impression was of an organization whose priority was service to people. It was clear that the focus wasn’t on spending scarce dollars on cosmetics, which was confirmed by the kindness of everyone I encountered there.

Although I can’t routinely wear my hearing aids due to a chronic ear infection, I am relieved by how much of a difference they make when I do wear them. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would say Wavefront is great. They have a real understanding of hearing loss and how it impacts people, always going the extra mile to make sure that people feel welcome and heard.

- Barbara F.

⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆

Immediately upon visiting Wavefront, I felt relief!

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when I found myself asking “pardon me?” too often and had to concentrate hard on hearing people. Before contacting Wavefront Centre, I had no fears but was looking for a better experience after I had previously visited a private audiologist nearby.

The technologist there conducted the tests, and then I met with the audiologist, who gave me dire news and immediately started selling me products, making me feel railroaded. At Wavefront Centre, I wanted an honest opinion and was willing to pay for testing to ensure I received it.

Immediately upon visiting Wavefront, I felt relief! I was confident that the audiologist testing me would provide a trustworthy opinion because Wavefront Centre’s audiologists do not have sales goals or directives to push specific products; they are focused on serving the deaf and hard of hearing community, not profit.

I enjoy my hearing aids so much that I wear them shortly after waking up and only take them off at night, and I’m comfortable admitting to people that I wear them. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering a visit to Wavefront Centre, I would tell them that it is the best option for obtaining honest opinions and being matched with hearing aids tailored to their specific condition.

- Pamela B.

You'll be so glad you did this for yourself.

I have known all my life that I had hearing challenges, and I got my first pair of aids 30 years ago. I realized I needed new ones and found Wavefront Centre; it’s great that there are resources there to help people who need financial assistance.

My first impression was that everyone was very understanding; they listened, informed me, and greeted me with a smile.

I now hear so much better at home and work, which is very important. Hearing the nuances of nature is another wonderful change. To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would advise you to get a hearing test and see what’s right for you. You’ll be so glad you did this for yourself.

I have become a better conversationalist in many settings with hearing aids.

I first realized something was wrong with my hearing when I had trouble understanding voices with accents on TV and movies, struggled to hear my grandkids’ soft voices, and found it nearly impossible to hear my friends in noisy restaurants.

Knowing that my mother had hearing aids, I decided to get my hearing tested. I was worried about the cost, but I understood the value of hearing aids from my mother and husband, which made me believe they would be beneficial for me too.

When I first visited Wavefront Centre, I was impressed by the clean and quiet office, and my audiologist was both friendly and professional. It was hard to gauge my performance during the hearing test since I couldn’t tell what I was missing.

Now, with my green hearing aids – my favourite colour – I can understand accents better in person, on TV, and in movies. Although sometimes the sound can be too loud, I can adjust the volume on my hearing aids, which is especially useful during movies. While I enjoy hearing bird songs more clearly, it also means that traffic noise is louder.

To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would say that you can be a better conversationalist in many settings with hearing aids. Although they are expensive, a lot of free support accompanies the purchase, including follow-up appointments and replacements if lost or damaged.

Since wearing hearing aids, my life has changed significantly.

I first realized I had a hearing challenge many years ago, and knew I needed to get it sorted out. Before contacting Wavefront Centre, I didn’t have any concerns aside from financial challenges.

The clinic was very welcoming, and the technical consultation was outstanding. Since wearing hearing aids, my life has changed significantly; I am no longer socially isolating myself and I love walking in nature and hearing birdsong again. If you’re concerned about your hearing, I highly recommend getting a consultation.

At 67 years old, I thought I was too young to have hearing trouble.

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when my sister pointed out that I often asked her to repeat what she said. Initially, I thought the issue was with her not speaking clearly, but soon I noticed that I struggled to understand others as well.

At 67 years old, I thought I was too young to have hearing trouble.

Before contacting Wavefront Centre, my main concern was that I might need to wear hearing aids, which I feared would be very expensive. My first impression of the centre was excellent. Nina conducted the hearing test and took her time to explain every step of the procedure. She showed me the results and assured me that getting hearing aids wasn’t urgent, leaving the decision up to me. The other staff members were also very friendly, and I appreciated the convenient parking downstairs!

Now that I have been wearing the hearing aids for about five weeks, I’m mostly accustomed to them, though I still fiddle with getting them correctly in my ears and adjusting them via my cell phone.

Once, in a big, loud group, I had to take them out because I couldn’t make the necessary adjustments.
For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering visiting Wavefront Centre, I would strongly recommend it. It’s very worth paying for the first visit without feeling pressured to purchase expensive devices.

- Christina L.

Give it a try!

I first suspected I might have a hearing challenge when I couldn’t clearly understand British accents while watching TV. Wavefront Centre gave me a great first impression; the team was extremely competent and organized.

Since wearing hearing aids, I’ve become much more confident in conversations during everyday situations. To anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, give it a try! I appreciate that they are not affiliated with one specific type or brand of hearing aid.

- Marlene P.

As hearing deteriorates, more brain cells redirect to understand speech, leaving fewer for memory and cognition, which is reason enough to take action.

When I started missing what people were saying, mainly needing to ask my wife to repeat herself and speak louder, and noticing my tinnitus worsening, I knew I needed to get help for my hearing. I was upset about my hearing declining, but after contacting Wavefront Centre, my worries were quickly alleviated.

I found them to be efficient and professional, and I appreciated that they are a non-profit organization, which alleviated my fear of being “oversold” by a commercial entity.

Since wearing hearing aids, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my ability to hear and understand things, such as dialogue on TV, as my brain has adjusted. They’ve also helped reduce my perception of tinnitus by allowing more high-frequency sound into my head, although the tinnitus is still noticeable at night without the aids.

To anyone concerned about their hearing, I would advise getting tested. As hearing deteriorates, more brain cells redirect to understand speech, leaving fewer for memory and cognition, which is reason enough to take action.

Do it! You won’t be sorry!!

As a teacher of young children, I often found myself asking, “Pardon me?” continuously. I also noticed that I would only use one ear to listen during phone calls and couldn’t hear with the other ear. It was quite a surprise!

Reflecting on my father’s experience with hearing aids, I had some fears before contacting Wavefront Centre; I remembered how he struggled with ambient sounds and discomfort, how he didn’t like the bulky appearance, and the hassle of changing tiny batteries, which I was keen to avoid. However, Wavefront Centre showed kindness and compassion and even helped me with financial concerns by helping me apply for a government subsidy that they believed I qualified for.

Wearing hearing aids has significantly improved my life— I can hear well and rarely need to say “pardon me?” anymore!

While ambient noise can still be challenging in loud, crowded environments, the hearing aids are quite comfortable and almost invisible. One of my favourite features is the Bluetooth capability, which allows me to stream music and phone calls directly through my hearing aids, and I’m particularly fond of the battery charger.

The ongoing service at Wavefront has been excellent. For anyone concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, do it! You won’t be sorry!

I can hear things now with my hearing aids that had been lost to me for a long time.

I realized I had a hearing challenge gradually, as I started being unable to hear people whispering and some sound levels just vanished. I knew I needed help, so I contacted Wavefront Centre; they were very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and helpful. Every question was answered, and the process was well explained step by step.

I can hear things now with my hearing aids that had been lost to me for a long time, and I can now understand TV dialogue much better without having to crank the volume up to 70. If someone is concerned about their hearing and considering a visit, I would share that my experience was nothing short of excellent and I would recommend Wavefront Centre to my peers and family members.

I feel more connected to friends and family, which has made a significant difference in my life.

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when my wife and daughter paused to listen to bird songs, and I couldn’t hear anything at all. This concerned me, and before contacting Wavefront Centre, I was a bit worried that I might lose all my hearing.

However, my first impression of the clinic was very positive; everyone was friendly and organized. Now that I wear hearing aids, I feel more connected to friends and family, which has made a significant difference in my life. For anyone who is concerned about their hearing and considering visiting, I would say they should come in to visit Wavefront Centre.

I encourage others to work closely with their audiologists to make necessary adjustments instead of simply abandoning their aids.

I realized I had a hearing challenge much later in life. As a child, frequent ear infections masked the issue, and I read lips to compensate without realizing there was a problem at all. It wasn’t until at 19 when I had a mastoidectomy in my right ear and at 24, while training to be an early childhood educator, I couldn’t hear the little voices, prompting me to buy my first hearing aid. That was when I discovered what I had been missing and became an advocate for hearing health.

Initially, my relief came from discovering that Wavefront Centre focused more on my hearing health than just selling hearing aids. Unlike other places with constant staff turnover, they ensured their hearing tests were conducted by professional audiologists, which gave me confidence in their recommendations.

Now, at 71, I wear aids in both ears to stay connected with my family, friends, and the buzz of life. Hearing aids require time and patience for your brain to adapt to new sounds, and I encourage others to work closely with their audiologists to make necessary adjustments instead of simply abandoning their aids.

I believe it’s important, as not wearing them might make others feel as though you’re uninterested in what they have to say.

I highly recommend visiting Wavefront Centre, a place I’ve trusted for years. They are professional, understand your issues, and genuinely care more about helping you than meeting a sales quota.
